Winterthur is known as the City of Museums.  Seventeen museums dot the city, and the subjects of their exhibits range from art, history, nature, technology and many others.  There are guided tours for these museums, but a tourist can explore them at his or her own pace.

Winterthur’s Musikfestwochen

The Winterthur Musikfestwochen is the city’s annual music festival, which is held in late August and early September.  The Old Town of Winterthur comes alive with the sound of live music of all genres during the Musikfestwochen.  Performances are held in the streets as well as in concert halls and bars.
