Restaurant Schloss Wülflingen

Since its major restoration in 1907/08, conducted under the control of the monument preservation authority, the building has been continuously and carefully maintained by the city of Winterthur. The imposing house is decorated with stepped gables and contains a large, vaulted cellar as well as a whole series of historic rooms equipped with wall and ceiling panels, tiled stoves and ornamental plasterwork. Some of the furniture is original, some was copied in 1907 from examples in the local museum.
The historic rooms are used extensively for a variety of functions. However, being an historic monument, restrictions are strictly imposed, such as dancing being limited to the main hall. Any new fittings are modest so as not to disturb the historic ambience. A garden restaurant has been tastefully added where an ornamental baroque garden was once located. In a manner appropriate to the property, the hosts offer lovingly and carefully prepared high- quality cuisine in charming surroundings.
