At the Nature Park Bruderhaus observe and learn about local and foreign species, some of them quite exotic. About 80 animals live here, in large enclosures that have been adapted to their needs. Among other animals, there are rare deer, lynxes, wild boars, European bison, and the famed Przewalski horses. This original horse is considered the legitimate ancestor of today's domestic horse and was first found in Mongolia in 1882. Since 1970, this animal is considered extinct, at least in its wild and free form.
The imposing European bison and the agile Vietnam sika deer are two more species that are officially extinct. Again, efforts are being made to re- establish communities of these animals with a breeding program, of which the nature park Bruderhaus is a member.

The Eschenberg is a popular outing for kids and adults alike. No wonder, what with two didactic trails, one dedicated to forestry and the other to geology, as well as a specially conceived hiking trail for children in the pre- kindergarten age, not to mention the rest stop Lynx, which is a large playground in the middle of the grounds, as
